These pages are for the benefit of all handlers and trainers of Deaf Agility Dogs.
These pages were the idea of Tim & Clare Griffiths, who run Redgates Agility Club.
At the end of January 2004, they took on Travis, a totally deaf 6 month old Blue Merle Border Collie from Battersea Dogs Home. They found training Travis a tremendously enjoyable and exhilarating experience.
From this they had the idea of getting together with other handlers of Deaf Agility Dogs, and if enough people are interested arranging an Agility Training Session specifically for Deaf Dogs.
Following requests in Agility Voice, Agility Eye, and on Agilitynet, they have now heard from more than 40 Handlers of Deaf Agility Dogs around the country.
We hope that these pages will act as a catalyst for everyone out there who knows anything about Deaf Agility Dogs to write articles and contribute towards this site.
Sadly, Travis who was also Epileptic went over the Rainbow Bridge in February 2015.
However in October 2017, Tim & Clare started rehomed Bruce, a deaf 5 month old GSD x JRT.
His story will follow soon.
